Do I need a referral letter to make an appointment?

Anyone can visit a specialist without a GP referral letter. However, if you wish to claim your Medicare benefit as an Australian resident, you will need an up-to-date referral letter from your GP to do so.

If you do not have a referral letter yet, simply call us at 0411069750 and our friendly staff can arrange a short visit with one of our associate Women's Health GPs for you.

If you are an overseas visitor without Australian Medicare then a referral is not necessary.

How long is the waiting time to see Dr. Gaur?

We endeavor to make an appointment for you as soon as possible. If you have an emergency or urgent situation, please feel free to let us know or ask your GP to call Dr. Gaur directly at her private numbers.

Do I need to have private health insurance to see Dr. Gaur?

No, you do not need to have a private health fund for your outpatient visits. However, if you have full private health insurance, your policy will usually cover the cost of inpatient procedures or surgery fees at private hospitals in case you need any.

What costs are involved?

Initial consultation or new referrals are charged at $200, regardless of the length of consultation. Approximately 38% will be reimbursed by Medicare. Subsequent consultations are charged at $120, also partially reimbursed by Medicare.

There may be additional reimbursable charges if addition services are required such as biopsies, insertion or removal of an IUD, colposcopy for cervical screening test abnormalities, or minor surgical procedures.

What are the costs of surgery?

We believe all women should have access to the optimal health care. Regardless of your background and status with health insurance, you can receive the recommended surgical treatment via one of the following pathways:

Most of our insured patients prefer to have surgery in a private hospital. All surgeries carried out in private hospitals carry a no gap payment (except a few health insurance companies). The surgical fees are based on the procedures and the complexity of a patient's case. Every surgery is tailored according to the specific conditions of each individual woman. You will receive a full estimate of fees prior to your surgery.

In addition to the hospital fees, you should plan on being billed by both the Anaesthetist and Pathologist. These charges are usually covered by the private health fund.

For those who have financial concerns, we will work out with you the most suitable pathway according to your wishes and needs.

What do I have to bring along for my visit?

Apart from a GP referral letter, please bring all your medical recordsimaging reports and details of long-term medications with you. It is at your best interest when our team has a thorough understanding about your past medical history.

If you have any further questions, please call 041169750 to talk to our friendly staff. We look forward to seeing you at Dr. Gaur's rooms.
